Read a report I have written for one of my clients:
PROJECT: RESEARCH
Title: Don’t get ripped off: IP for creative practitioners
Client: Focus West
Sector: Public Sector, Creative Industries
Description: A business support agency for the digital media sector, Focus West is based in the Business Enterprise Centre in West London. It is supported by the London Development Agency and London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
This report was written as a brief introduction to Intellectual Property, an important but frequently mystifying subject for creative practitioners. The main aim of this research was to provide give an overview of IP and provide practical steps artists and other creative entrepreneurs can take to protect their work.
Target audience: London-based creatives working in digital media, creative freelancers, SMEs and individuals who want to prevent their work from being copied illegally.
My role: I researched the subject of intellectual property focusing specifically on the creative industries and the protection of original artistic work, with particular reference to work produced or distributed in a digital format. I then wrote the final report and uploaded it onto the Focus West website both as an html page and as a downloadable PDF.
Services Provided: Research, copywriting, web editing
